My passion for publishing amazing content started when I created a website about one of the most popular British bands of our time, which was featured in Q magazine.
On screen, I’m a driven digital publishing professional with more than 8 years combined experience working in marketing, sales, editorial and digital development in the hospitality and publishing industries.
Originally from Connecticut, I moved to sunny California for my undergraduate degree, where I spent 7 years and earned my Bachelor of Science in journalism with a magazine emphasis. I also enjoyed more than 3 years working in a variety of roles at rock magazines, including web editor. And yes, we did more than listen to CDs and interview rock stars.
After 3.5 years in the hospitality industry at Silicon Valley’s finest business club promoting membership and member events (also had a great wine education), I moved to NYC to pursue my Master of Science degree in publishing. Since moving to NYC, I’ve worked in the traditional book publishing industry and at a digital media start-up that produced e-books, enhanced e-books and mobile apps.
I’m presently at Media Source Inc. (Library Journal/School Library Journal/The Horn Book), where I have gone back to my library roots, which began with my first job all those years ago as a page in the children’s room.
